Algias Kasembeli

The Founder algias@fcf.or.ke

I am reaching out to share with you the story of the genesis of our organization and the transformative journey we have embarked upon since its inception in 2007. Back then, as I observed the dire circumstances in which orphans and vulnerable children found themselves—deprived of basic necessities such as education, shelter, and sustenance—I felt compelled to take action. Witnessing their struggles resonated deeply with me, as I, too, had faced similar challenges growing up, having had to discontinue my education due to financial constraints. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, I resolved that it was unacceptable for children to endure such hardships in the contemporary age. Drawing from my own experiences, I understood the profound impact that limited access to education could have on the lives of these youngsters. Thus, I made a commitment to provide support to those in need, driven by a personal understanding of the obstacles they faced. The establishment of our organization was rooted in the belief that society, as a collective, must extend a helping hand to those less fortunate. It began modestly, with ten students—six in secondary and four in primary education. Over time, thanks to the collaboration of compassionate individuals and our shared commitment, the foundation has grown substantially. We now support a more extensive number of students in both primary and secondary education. Witnessing some of the students we support progressing to colleges and universities has been a source of immense joy and fulfillment. It serves as a testament to the belief that, through concerted efforts and collective determination, we can overcome any obstacle. The journey we have undertaken demonstrates the power of unity and highlights that, indeed, a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. As we reflect on our progress, it is with a renewed sense of purpose and dedication that we look to the future. Our vision remains steadfast: to empower and uplift needy children in society by providing them access to education. I express my deepest gratitude to all who have been a part of this journey, and I am inspired every day by the positive impact we collectively make. Together, there is nothing we cannot achieve. Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to our shared cause.
